I’ve come to the point where I don’t trust my brain to remember all the things. You might be the same. If you’re not sure, check out these 10 signs that indicate you could use a simple planning system:
1. You can’t remember what day it is.
2. You think of something important… and then lose it the moment you walk into another room.
3. You double-check the time even though you just checked it.
4. You remember an appointment only once you’re already late.
5. You open a notes app and find three half-written lists with no context.
6. You put something somewhere “safe” and never see it again.
7. You think of all the important things to do during Shemoneh Esrei.
8. You have stress dreams about not finishing everything before Shabbos
9. You remember an errand only after driving past the place where it needed to happen.
10. You make a list, then rewrite it neatly instead of actually doing anything.

If you do one or two or all of these things, don’t worry. Nothing is wrong with you. It usually means you’re asking your brain to do a job that’s just a bit too much. Do yourself a favor, and get a notebook where you can keep track of all the moving pieces.
